Hey Girls!

This is a great follow through Amber. Thanks for taking initiative. I've been searching trying to 'add' everyone's e-mail under settings. But it wasn't working for me. So I'm hoping this gets through. If not, could someone let me know? It will post likely, but I wonder if you girls will get the e-mail notifying....

Thought you all might be interested in knowing (maybe already know) but the original Straight No Chaser group has made it pretty big. They performed twice on the Christmas in Washington Concert on TV last night. And there "Holiday Spirits" album is under "What we're listening to on iTunes." Kinda cool! I guess someone put an old video up of them performing a Christmas songs and it got nine million hits, so a recording company signed them. I dunno, it gives me pride for IU :) It was when my brother was in school so one of his frat brothers is in it....not that he cares.

It's cool to think of timing in everything. How stuff comes together at different times and in different ways. I was thinking about that for those guys.

Counting Down the Days....

I am sooo excited for Christmas break! Only 3 more days of school and I cannot wait! I just began packing my suitcase last night. This will be the first time I'm driving home to Indiana since I've moved to Charlotte. Kelly Jones, my roommate, also went to IU. She was a DG and a mutual friend of Wendy's (through Jill). She is so awesome and I'm pumped for the roadtrip. Pray for safety and quick travels.

Baby Potter- where are you? We are all greatly anticipating the arrival of our first Theta baby. Kate, it is with joy we pray for your delivery & life as a mommy. I love you so much and I can't wait to be an aunt!

I'm pumped about the Musselman's par-tay! Great idea Kaytie! Nothing can top the snow man "teacher" sweater from Gma last year. Just you wait & see.....

Please pray for my students the nest 3 days....they have been a little crazy this week. I had to go to an all day meeting yesterday so they had a sub. Apparently, she quit before 11:00am because they were so horribble. No body can control them, except me by God's grace. Pray for strength and wisdom as I teach & love them.

Amber's Update

Alright, so let me start with what's going on in my life.....

School:  Things have been very challenging for me this school year and I am trusting the Lord for strength every day.  My students have some major behavior & emotional issues that I have been trying to battle since day 1.  God constantly reminds me that the battle is not against the kids but it is a spiritual battle.  I know that I'm called to be an intercessor for them so I'm trying to embrace that calling.  I love my kids deeply but I am overwhelmed by the day to day challenges and the fact that most of them are very far behind grade level.  Pray for God's peace to rest in my classroom and for wisdom & grace to cover me as I teach.

Nathan:  I love him soooooo much and we are super excited for the wedding.  Honestly, looking forward to our marriage is often what gets me through the week.  We have had such sweet conversation recently and I am so thankful for his heart and they he lives me as Jesus does.  The big details for the wedding are coming together and I can't wait to celebrate!

Family:  Pray for radical transformation for my dad & brother.  There is so much hurt and pain in my household right now and I am believing for a miracle.  Also, pray for wisdom & strength so that I am may be discerning in my time with them at home.

Encouragement for you:  I had such a sweet time with the Lord this morning and I just wanted to share what He showed me.  Read through Galations 5...

*Grow in freedom by increasing the presence of the fruit of the Spirit in your life.  Only use your freedom for loving God & loving other or else it leads to bondage*

*Set your heart in only doing & saying what God is saying and doing.  Therefore, be sensitive to His Spirit and respond in obedience*
